TARKAN'IN ALMANCA HAYATI

How to Collect Stamps

Edited by Rob S, Melodie R, Maluniu, Dave Crosby and 18 others
Collecting stamps can be a rewarding hobby. It can be pursued at any level of skill or expense. A beginner or child can be perfect with an album of pretty pictures. An advanced collector can be enthralled with a detailed study of a single stamp. The right way to collect is the way that makes you happy.

Edit Steps

  1. 1
Get some stamps. Start with easy sources. Stamp dealers and hobby stores offer affordable packets with hundreds of different used stamps; these are excellent for kicking off a new stamp collection. Sometimes online sources can give even better bargains. At this stage of collecting quantity and variety are important. Make sure the packet is all-different stamps. Packets of "mixtures" are available much more cheaply, often by weight, but these include quantities of heavily duplicated common stamps that have not yet been removed from the envelope paper.
    Ad
  2. 2
Acquire stamp tongs . These are often called tweezers because they so resemble them. They differ from tweezers, however, in several significant ways: They are not strong, so you cannot use them to apply serious pressure on anything. The grasping area is smooth, not ridged; this helps to avoid damaging stamps when you squeeze too hard. The tips are thin; this makes it easier to slide the tip under a stamp when you want to take it from a flat surface. The weight and length of tongs vary, so this is a matter of what is comfortable in your hand. Some have bent tips; for some collectors that makes it easier to pick up the stamps. The shape of the point varies. Avoid the ones with tips that are too pointed; when you are working with stamps, especially wet ones, there is a greater risk that you will accidentally poke the point through the stamp.
In addition to protecting the stamps from physical damage when picking them up, tongs also protect the stamps from damage by any acidic moisture that normally comes from your fingers.
  3. 3
Start sorting. It doesn't matter how you do this. The best way is the way that means something to you. Sorting by country is one of the most common ways of doing this. Knowing the country that produced a stamp will be helpful later when you are looking for further information about the stamp. Another popular way of collecting is by the subject represented on the stamp. This is known as "topical collecting" in the United States, or "thematic collecting" in the United Kingdom. There is a great variety of subjects that can be considered here: butterflies, sports, famous people, or airplanes. Many countries take this into account when developing their stamp issuing programmes. Others may choose to sort by colour or shape. You can also just let your imagination run wild and do unique categorizations.
  4. 4
Store your stamps. Once you have spread your stamps in neat little piles across the dining room table, your family will object if they can't use the table for other purposes, notably dining. So you need someplace to put your stamps without undoing your sorting work. A quick solution would be to put the stamps into a series of envelopes, each marked with a note about what's inside. The problem with this is that you can't see your stamps without emptying the envelope and spreading them out. It's time to invest in a stock book .
  5. 5
Stock books can be in either bound or loose leaf format, and come in various page sizes. If you go with loose leaf pages, prefer pages that are punched in the left margin for insertion in a standard three-ring binder. Other hole punching formats are available, but the binders could be hard to find and more expensive.
    • The pages of stock books are made of light cardboard with strips of transparent plastic across the page. The strips are fastened to the cardboard at the two ends, and glued at the bottom edge to create a wide pocket for inserting stamps. The cardboard backing for the pages can be white or black; the black pages tend to be of better quality, but they are more expensive. The stamps, which are mostly printed on white paper, stand out much better on a black background.
    • Another kind of stock book is made of manila cardboard similar to that found in file folders. For these a layer of slotted cardboard is glued to a layer of whole cardboard to form the horizontal slots. The effect is that you can't see the bottom of the stamps. These are, however, sturdy and less expensive. They are convenient for storing duplicate stamps.
  6. 6
When adding or removing stamps from a stock book it is always easier when you use your tongs.
  7. 7
Swap stamps. When you have sorted through a few packets of stamps you will find that you have a number of stamps that are duplicates, or are from countries or about topics that don't interest you. You can do better than just putting them in the trash. Start asking people from school, work mates, and even your family members to discover other stamp collectors who have the same problem. Their duplicates are likely to differ from your duplicates; this gives ample opportunity for both of you to be rewarded by trading your unwanted stamps. At this stage of the hobby it is best to trade on a one stamp for one stamp basis. You do not yet have the knowledge to bargain based on the relative market values of individual stamps. One possible exception to the one-for-one rule would be the condition of the stamp in fine condition is always worth more than the same stamp in poor condition or with a heavy cancel.
  8. 8
Borrow books from the library. The best way to learn as much as possible about stamp collecting is to digest the wisdom of those who have written a lot about it. Most libraries will have quite a large collection of such books.
  9. 9
    Get the right equipment.
    • Magnifying glasses : With the designs of many stamp issues only differing by a line or a dot, magnifying glasses are probably the stamp collector's most valued tool. They vary enormously in size, strength, and type and many come with extra comfort features such as built-in lights for better viewing and stands for hands-free use.
  10. 10
Early United States stamps are notoriously difficult to distinguish between since many have the same design for two or more issues.
    • Perforation gauge :
  11. 11
    • Watermark fluid and tray :
    • Drying book :
    • Glassine envelopes :
    • Stamp hinges :
    • Stamp mount :
    • Stamp album :
  12. 12
Learn the values and the rarity of your stamps. Once you have a good idea of the values of the stamps and how rare they are, you will be able to more easily determine the direction of your collecting interests. Stamp catalogues and price guides price guides are excellent resources, having illustrated lists of stamps, arranged by year, that give a current market value for a given stamp issue. The most widely recognized catalogues are: the Scott Postage Stamp Catalog, Stanley Gibbons for Great Britain issues, Yvert et Tellier for French issues, Unitrade for Canadian issues, and Minkus and Harris US/BNA for United States issues.
  13. 13
Collect new stamps. Visit your local post office for these. If you have friends living overseas, ask them to send you stamps from their country.
  14. 14
Join a stamp collector's club or an online discussion group. Seasoned stamp collectors often meet to share tips and tip-offs. By joining a club, you too can benefit from their years of experience.
  15. 15
Increase the value of your collection over time. As you learn more, start investing in more valuable stamps.

How to Be Healthy and Happy
Edited by Illneedasaviour, Krazycommando, Ranae, Swathi Reddy and 6 others We all want to be healthy and happy in life and sometimes you don't know how to! If you want to know how follow these steps which will help to get you where you want to be.

Edit Steps

1 Get enough sleep. It not only keeps you healthy but you will be happier. Be sure to get 8-10 hours of sleep each night and on school nights go to sleep earlier if you wake up earlier. It also helps if your bed is nice and comfy; try having warm blankets, a nice drink, or if it is hot, a window open. Always be sure to settle down and relax an hour before you go to bed because it will help you drift off more easily; read a book, watch TV but avoid doing things like homework or anything too stressful that requires you to think.
Ad

2 Eat healthy. Cut down on the junk food and eat your fruit and vegetable portions every day. This will leave you feeling generally more energetic and happy. Replace unhealthy snacks like a chocolate bar with a piece of fruit or perhaps some nuts but do make sure to treat yourself once in a while which is okay. Also cut down on too many processed foods altogether.

3 Drink lots of water. Water is good for everything in your body and I would list them all but it's never ending. Water helps to give you clear skin which leaves you feeling happier about your appearance as well! Water is just plain amazing for your overall health. So make sure to have it with you at all times and try to drink 8 glasses a day. Also if you do not really like the taste of water, try flavored or sparkling and maybe add some lemon slices; and of course you can always have Robinson's squash or anything like that.

4 Exercise. Whether it's a brisk walk, a quick jog, dancing in your room, playing Wii Fit, anything like that will keep you feeling strong and happy. Obviously you don't have to exercise daily because, lets face it, we don't always have the time; but try to fit it in a little and you will like the difference.

5 Treat yourself. By this I mean buying those shoes you always wanted, going to that football game, going shopping or simply (something I do) treating your body after showers and baths. By this I mean some nice body lotions or butters and some great perfumes and body mists. Also you can use bath fizzies or shower gel to give you that boost of happiness and your body the treat. Of course you can do this every time you shower or bathe because it's just something to look forward to and relax with; I do.

6 Have true friends. Bond with true friends and compliment them and appreciate them. Always show them how much you love them and treat them how you would like to be treated. Do not back stab, always stick together and stick up for each other. Do not believe any rumors; and once in a while go out and hang out with your friends; you'll create memories and become closer.

7 Smile and laugh. Don't get sad over nothing and take a joke too seriously but at the same time know when it's too far or let yourself be upset. Overall do not be pessimistic; smile and laugh all the time and you will be happy; also who knows maybe your smile might make somebody's day.

8 Do hobbies. This can be art, music, collecting things or whatever that makes you happy and makes you yourself. Try to be active and celebrate your achievements. Give gifts without expecting to receive anything else; keep yourself busy and happy.

9 Help out your family. Help your mum do the dishes, help out your dad in the kitchen, hoover your room or anything that could help your family. It will not only make them love you more but you will feel happy knowing you have done good.

10 Ignore rumors, insults and avoid the stupid people. This is possibly one of the hardest and I'm still working on it but I know when I have cracked it, I will have a weight lifted off my shoulders. When that stupid boy or girl calls you ugly, do not respond, just walk away with your head held high because at the end of the day, they will give up if they don't get the reaction out of you that they want. Not only will you realize these people aren't worth it but it will keep you out of a lot of trouble at school and in general. If there is the most irritating rumor or rumors about you going round for maybe an year and it's just gone too far, just take a deep breath and think about the fact you know it's not true and that is all that matters; this is the most powerful thing. Ignore and avoid anybody who thinks otherwise because they are just trying to wind you up. Stupid people... this can be a whole bunch of boys and girls and you know what, just ignore them, avoid them, don't associate with them, don't embarrass yourself around them and generally steer clear of these people and you will be happier and more relaxed in life.

11 Remember the important things. Remember popularity isn't everything and I would much rather choose true friends over that. Remember, sometimes you have to let a friend go and make another one. Remember that words can hurt. Remember you only live once and life is what you make it. Remember all these things and much more and you'll know what to make out of your life.

12 Cut out stress in your life. This keeps you healthy and definitely happy. Take deep breaths, do yoga, relax and avoid stress at all times, it's not good for you. Read and write, keep a diary, listen to music to calm you down, sit on your windowsill and look at the beautiful sky.

13 Be confident. Give yourself a makeover, inside and out. Look in the mirror and see your beauty. Use a day and night wash to get rid of acne. Moisturize and replenish your body. Smile and embrace happiness. Know that we all come in different shapes and sizes and it's the inside as well as the outside. Wear that great perfume. Strut your stuff. Stand up straight and keep your head held high. Learn to be confident and who you are because nobody's perfect. You are amazing! Trust me, you are!

14 Have goals and dreams, and achieve them. Failure comes in can't and success comes in cans. Always believe you can achieve. If you can dream it, you can achieve it; no matter what. Of course keep goals and dreams realistic. You can't become the Hulk or something but you can get A*'s in all of your exams, if you work for it.

15 Keep on top of schoolwork and stay organized. Get homework over and done with and hand it in on time. Revise for that test. Keep things neat and tidy. Have a workspace and a timetable. Store work in folders and make sure you know where everything is so you don't panic, and whatever you do, don't procrastinate. I mean, let's face it, we have all been there but don't go there again.

16 Get out and enjoy the fresh air. Go out with friends, go to a party, get together with the family, go on a bike ride, take a walk with your pet, and enjoy!

17 Always stay true to who you are. Never change yourself for anyone and anything. Always stay true to your faith and beliefs. Always have your dignity, never have regrets, always be the best that you can be! Also surround yourself with the people and things that you love.

18 Be inspired by music and quotes. It's unbelievable how much this can affect you and change your whole life. So get inspired and love it.

19 Don't be superficial. It doesn't do anyone any favors. Better to be hated than loved for what your not.

20 Love life. You have to love your life! Be proud, and laugh lots! Dream and wish, be whoever you want to be. Take life and make it what you want. When life gives you lemons squirt life in the eye with the lemons! Explore, dream, discover. Be smart enough to hold on to and be brave enough to let go. Find and create yourself. Take risks. Reject the status quo. Stick up for yourself. Take chances, you never know where they can lead you to. Life goes on. Follow your gut. Love yourself. If you are doing your best, you won't have time to worry about failure. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Life is music, love are the lyrics. Stay strong. Failure is the door to success. You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change. You don't forgive people because your weak, you forgive people because you are strong enough to know people make mistakes. When you want something you have never had, you have to do something you have never done. And lastly, you are beautiful!

Siyah pulların sizin olduğunu düşünürsek;

Vizyon Tarihi (2s 18dk
Yönetmen: Terrence Malick
Oyuncular: Brad Pitt, Jessica Chastain, Sean Penn
Tür Dram , Fantastik
Ülke ABD

Yazar: Terrence Malick Terrence Malick

Tree of Life is a period piece centered around three boys in the 1950s. The eldest son (Hunter McCracken none SAG) of two characters (Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain) witnesses the loss of innocence.

We trace the evolution of an eleven-year-old boy in the Midwest, Jack, one of three brothers. At first all seems marvelous to the child. He sees as his mother does, with the eyes of his soul. She represents the way of love and mercy, where the father tries to teach his son the world's way, of putting oneself first. Each parent contends for his allegiance, and Jack must reconcile their claims. The picture darkens as he has his first glimpses of sickness, suffering and death. The world, once a thing of glory, becomes a labyrinth.

Framing this story is that of adult Jack, a lost soul in a modern world, seeking to discover amid the changing scenes of time that which does not change: the eternal scheme of which we are a part. When he sees all that has gone into our world's preparation, each thing appears a miracle precious, incomparable. Jack, with his new understanding, is able to forgive his father and take his first steps on the path of life.

The story ends in hope, acknowledging the beauty and joy in all things, in the everyday and above all in the family -- our first school -- the only place that most of us learn the truth about the world and ourselves, or discover life's single most important lesson, of unselfish love.

More than any other flower, the rose flower has been prized for its delicate beauty and magical fragrance all across the globe. It has played a significant role in human societies. Roses flower has attracted our attention and has captured our hearts throughout the ages. The rose flower has such a wonderful eye-catching appearance, so it is not a surprise that it is among the most beloved and evocative of flowers. AÇLIK OYUNLARI İNGİLİZCE KİTAP ÖZETİ

The Capitol is the cruel Government of the twelve districts of Panem, which was once North America. As punishment for a revolution in the past, the Capitol created the Hunger Games. One boy and one girl (aged twelve to eighteen) are chosen from each district to fight on live television until only one child remains.

Our main character is Katniss Everdeen, who volunteers in the place of her younger sister Primrose for District Twelve. The male “tribute” for the district is Peeta Mellark, the son of a baker, who is in love with Katniss. During the Games, Katniss uses his love to her advantage, so that the wealthy audience can send her food and medicine.

All the citizens from districts four to twelve hate the Capitol because of the oppression, poverty and violence that they suffer. Katniss angers the Capitol during the Games when her new friend Rue from District Eleven is killed, and she shows compassion by laying flowers on her body. Furthermore, at the end of the Games, only Peeta and Katniss remain, so each refuses to kill the other. Instead, they agree to eat poisoned berries together so that there is no winner for the Capitol. In response, rather than being humiliated in front of the districts, the Capitol allow the couple to win together. The other districts watching the Games have now witnessed an act of rebellion, and they want more. Thus, a second revolution is about to be born…

'Catching Fire' is about the development of this revolution. The Capitol are furious at Katniss for starting a second rebellion, so they create a special version of the Hunger Games for all the previous victors, which means that she and Peeta must return. During these games, they create a team of victors, who manage to destroy the arena and escape to District Thirteen, which most people thought did not exist. However, the Capitol capture Peeta, and they destroy District Twelve.

'Mockingjay' tells the story of Katniss leading the revolution of the Capitol and President Snow. The rebels use her in the media as the symbol of their rebellion. They rescue Peeta, but he has been tortured and now he hates and fears Katniss. A team of rebels including Peeta and Katniss then go on a mission to assassinate President Snow in the Capitol, but Katniss' sister Primrose is killed by a bomb. Katniss later discovers that the president of the rebels made this bomb, so she kills her own president in place of Snow. She then returns to her home, District Twelve, to try to recover with Peeta. At the end of the book we see them married with two children.

Kedinin İngilizce Hayatı

Cats are small, tame, furry mammals that are often kept as pets and farm animals. There are over 30 different breeds of tame cats, with different body shapes and sizes, coloring, fur length, eye color, tail length, voice, and temperament. House cats do not enjoy swimming. Cats were domesticated over 7,000 years ago.
Diet:  Even tame cats are fast, effective hunters.  They are carnivores (meat-eaters). Cats will kill and eat small mammals, birds, fish, frogs, lizards, and snakes. On farms, cats help reduce the vermin population (rats, mice, and other small, destructive animals). Cats use their acute sight and hearing to catch prey. They swallow large bites of meat without chewing it. Cats are primarily nocturnal (most active at night).  They have very good night vision.
Anatomy: Cats are graceful animals that have a rounded face. They have a sand-papery tongue and needle-like teeth. Their skeleton is extremely flexible.
Cats are subtle solitary, independent, regal creatures that express affection on their own terms. It’s exactly these characteristics that draw people so deeply to them. When a cat loves you, it feels like the queen has just given you her smile of approval! When a cat crawls up on your lap and rubs your face with its cheek, it’s pretty difficult not to smile. Soft to the touch and immensely fun to play with, but fully capable of keeping themselves entertained, cats work well with families and kids that lead rather busy lives and want to snuggle up to an affectionate animal without having to spend hours and hours each day on exercise, cleaning and maintenance.
Lifespan: 15-20 years.

Suç ve Ceza Almanca Kitap Özeti

AUTOR
Fjodor Dostojewski
Swidrigailow begeht kurz danach Selbstmord.

Baku (Azerbaijani: Bakı, IPA: [bɑˈcɯ]) is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan, as well as the largest city on the Caspian Sea and of the Caucasus region. It is located on the southern shore of the Absheron Peninsula, which projects into the Caspian Sea. The city consists of two principal parts: the downtown and the old Inner City (21.5 ha). Baku’s urban population at the beginning of 2009 was estimated at just over two million people. Officially, about 25 percent of all inhabitants of the country live in the metropolitan city area of Baku.
Baku is divided into eleven administrative districts (raions) and 48 townships. Among these are the townships on islands in the Baku Bay and the town of Oil Rocks built on stilts in the Caspian Sea, 60 km (37 mi) away from Baku. The Inner City of Baku along with the Shirvanshah’s Palace and Maiden Tower were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. According to the Lonely Planet’s ranking, Baku is also among the world’s top ten destinations for urban nightlife.
The city is the scientific, cultural and industrial center of Azerbaijan. Many sizeable Azerbaijani institutions have their headquarters there, including SOCAR, one of the world’s top 100 companies and others. The Baku International Sea Trade Port, sheltered by the islands of the Baku Archipelago to the east and the Absheron Peninsula to the north, is capable of handling two million tons of general and dry bulk cargoes per year.
The architecture of Baku is not characterized by any particular architectural style, having accumulated its buildings over a long period of time.
In itself, Baku contains a wide variety of styles, progressing through Masud Ibn Davud’s 12th century Maiden Tower and the educational institutions and buildings of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic era.
Late modern and postmodern architecture began to appear in the early-2000s. With the economic development, old buildings such as Atlant House have been razed to make way for new ones. Buildings with all glass shell appear around the city, with the most prominent examples being the SOCAR Tower and Flame Towers.
With Shi’a Islam being the dominant religion of Azerbaijan, there are may Islamic architecture featured buildings that resides in Baku. Religious places have more Islamic calligraphy drawn on the columns and other places on the structure.[3] In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
There are many buildings built by the Azerbaijani at the turn of the 20th century that spot Victorian and Western influence in their designs. Another important accomplishment of Azerbaijani Democratic Republic was the establishment of Baku State University, which was the first modern-type university founded in Azerbaijan.
Geography
Baku is situated on the western coast of Caspian Sea. In the vicinity of the city there are a number of mud volcanoes(Keyraki, Bogkh-bogkha, Lokbatan and others) and salt lakes (Boyukshor, Khodasan and so on).
Climate
Baku has a subtropical semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification: BSk) with warm and dry summers, cool and occasionally wet winters, and strong winds all year long. However, unlike many other cities with this climate, Baku does not see extremely hot summers. This is largely because of its northerly latitude and the fact that it is located on a peninsula on the shore of the Caspian Sea. Baku and the Absheron Peninsula on which it is situated, is the most arid part of Azerbaijan (precipitation here is around or less than 200 mm (8 in) a year). The majority of the light annual precipitation occurs in seasons other than summer, but none of these months are particularly wet. During Soviet times, Baku with its long hours of sunshine and dry healthy climate, was a vacation destination where citizens could enjoy beaches or relax in now-dilapidated spa complexes overlooking the Caspian Sea. The city’s past as a Soviet industrial center has left it as one of the most polluted cities in the world.
At the same time Baku is noted as a very windy city throughout the year, and gale-force winds, the cold northern windkhazri and the warm southern wind gilavar are typical here in all seasons. Indeed, the city is renowned for its fierce winter snow storms and harsh winds.

INTRODUCTION OF TURKISH MUSICAL INSTRUMENT SAZ AND BAĞLAMA

Saz (Turkish Long Neck Lute)

The Saz is the grandfather of the Greek Bouzouki. It’s originated in Central Asia where Turks lived before their westward migration. Like the guitar in Spain and the bouzouki in Greece, the Saz is the most popular stringed instrument in Turkey. Although similar in shape to the Greek Bouzouki, the construction, size and sound of the Saz is different. You need a baglama saz to be able to play the microtones (Perde) of Arabicmusic. These instruments have traditional tied frets that are movable, and 3 courses of strings.

Baglama

Baglama is the most commonly used string folk instrument in Turkey. It takes different names according to theregions and according to its size such as Baglama, Divan Sazi, Bozuk, Çögür, Kopuz Irizva, Cura, Tambura, etc.

Cura is the smallest member of the baglama family with the highest pitched sound. The member one size bigger than cura which gives a sound that is one octave lower than cura is the tambura. And the one with the deepest sound is the Divan sazi whose sound is one octave lower compared to tambura.
Baglama has three main parts called Boat, Chest and Neck. boat part is generally made from mulberry trees as well as from woods of juniper, beech, spruce or walnut. The Chest part is made from spruce and the sap section from homespun or juniper.
There are pieces called burgu (screw) at the end of the sap which is opposite to tekne part to which the strings are tied. These screws are used for tuning. There are pitches on the sap tied with fish line. Baglama is played with a Mizrap or Tezene made from cherry wood bark or plastic and fingers are used in some regions. The later technique is called Selpe.
There are three string groups on Baglama in groups of two or three. These string groups can be tuned in a variety of ways. For example in the tuning style called baglama Düzeni, the strings in the lower group give ‘la’, middle group strings and upper group strings give ‘mi’ notes. Besides this type of tuning there are
Black Order, Order are four marbles, Abdal Layout, Layout etc Rast. styles.
